Since 1990, Northwoods Habitat for Humanity has built 60 homes in partnership with community members to make their dreams of home ownership a reality. Homes are built through the hard work and dedication of partner families and volunteers. Zero percent of your donations are used to pay operating costs. Homeowners pay zero interest on 25-30 year mortgage loans. Habitat makes zero profit on those loans. Homeowner payments go into our "Fund for Humanity" which builds more homes.
Additionally, through our "A Brush with Kindness" program, Northwoods Habitat for Humanity has completed 84 home improvement projects in the Bemidji area. These services allow homeowners to maintain a safe, decent place to live for years to come.
